Apostles to the Market Place #9
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:16 Shabbat shalom dearly beloved: This last week I have been realizing the importance of putting value on some things. As we go through life many times we forget the value of our lives. As I was exercising today in the workout room I was having a conversation with the trainer who is 25 years old. She is a lovely and talented woman and yet she thinks of herself as dumb and as a zero! How many of you feel like this? “I am not worth enough, I am not valuable enough. What I do is not that important etc, etc.” The truth is that VALUE is something totally subjective. Whatever you put into something that is the value of it. If you buy a shirt in a shop at the time of the winter or the summer sales, you will see that the price tag has been marked down a few times. When that shirt first came to the shop it had one value and once no one bought it - a few months later -the value changed and the price decreased dramatically! A few days ago I purchased a nice sporty jacket. It was on sale. The original price had been 600 shekels and it was marked down 70%. I bought it at 120 shekels. That was a great deal. It’s a really nice jacket that I will probably use for a season or two and then I’ll give it away when I grow tired of it or when I feel the Holy Spirit prompting me to give it away. However when it comes to our value as human beings there are no “sales” and the price will never be marked down. YHVH paid FULL PRICE for us and forever established our value at the MAXIMUM (not the minimum!) going price. “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, the Messiah died for us.” Romans 5:8 “For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.” 1 Corinthians 6:20 The only reason that people compromise their walk and fall into unbelief is because they have forgotten their value. When you remember how valuable you are, you have self confidence and whatever you do becomes valuable! Knowing your value and the value of your work is one of the major KEYS to SUCCESS. People will never pay you fair prices if you do not value yourself and your work. People will only value you according to how you value yourself! When you value yourself and your business or ministry, you will find that it grows more and more successful and more and more committed people want to be part of it. People that know their value are not men pleasers. They are not depending on other people to affirm them. They know what they are worth and they project themselves accordingly. Rejection cannot diminish them. They are confident of their worth! When we depend on people to affirm us or to make us feel valuable, we actually fall into a trap and we become slaves of men’s opinions! “You were bought with a price; do not become slaves of men.” 1 Corinthians 7:23 Another way of relating to the second most important commandment, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” is the following: Know your value. Know the value of your work and put the same value on others and on their work that YHVH placed on you! Now, think how many things that you have and you do that you have taken for granted and have placed no value on? Maybe you are a house wife or a teacher, or a clerk, a salesman, a small business owner, etc…Have you valued yourself and what you do? What about your family, and your health? Have you valued your health enough to KEEP it and increase it? When we value something, we always give our best into it. If we value a relationship, or a job, our business or our ministry, whatever YOU put into everything in life that will be the VALUE that it’s going to have. What about your pastor have you valued him/her? Do you tithe and bless him/her, do you appreciate him/her? Do you tell him/her how valuable he/she is, how important and meaningful their input into your life is?
“I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat then I will enter into judgment with them there on behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; And they have divided up My land. "They have also cast lots for My people, traded a boy for a harlot and sold a girl for wine that they may drink.” Joel 3:2-3 Elohim calls Israel His inheritance, and He certainly gets very “touchy” when someone puts His People and His Land on End of Season Sales for 50% or 70% off!
A special thank you to all those that have placed VALUE on us, our ministry and our Shabbat Letters; Your prayers and offerings are a sweet incense and aroma before YAH’s Throne! We value you highly and pray for you daily! “And I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse and in you all the families of the earth will be blessed."
