Apostles to the Market Place #6

 “And He was saying to them, "Take care what you listen to. By your standard of measure it will be measured to you; and more will be given you besides.”  Mark 4:24

Shabbat shalom dearly beloved:

The very word SELF can cause "allergic reactions" in most Christian/Messianic believers as if Elohim created us without SELF. It is time we realized that the way He created us is VERY GOOD!

In the above Scripture Y'shua said that we will be measured (valued) according to how WE measure (value ourselves or others). This Scripture is so strong as to say that if you have nothing to give or to offer, you will receive nothing and even what you have will be taken away from you!

"For whoever has, to him more shall be given; and whoever does not have, even what he has shall be taken away from him." Mark 4:25

And all this is in the context of "showing up" or what many would call; Self-Promotion, allowing yourself to SHINE in full view of ALL.

“And He was saying to them, "A lamp is not brought to be put under a basket, is it, or under a bed? Is it not brought to be put on the lampstand?”  Mark 4:21

I used to shiver every time my job in the ministry required to speak about "ourselves" and "our vision" and why should people support us. I was in the midst of a coaching training and I was required to speak for 1 minute of why should people vote for ME. I broke out in cold sweat! I could preach for hours about why they should choose Y'shua, God, Israel but ME? Why should anybody chose me? Do I deserve to be chosen? That exercise taught me a great lesson about myself.  I wasted 60 precious seconds in an insecure talk of why I am so "important". I did not believe it myself neither did I convince myself or anyone else! "

Are we supposed to be able to "sell ourselves" to promote ourselves to get positions, jobs, customers, sales etc…

I have this simple thought that can change your life: If you do not believe in YOU, no one else will, and you will be doomed to a life of obscurity, mediocrity and failure!

Yeshua was the perfect example of one who believed in Himself and in His mission. He was even accused of promoting Himself!

"Even in your law it has been written that the testimony of two men is true. "I am He who testifies about Myself, and the Father who sent Me testifies about Me." John 8:17,18

And what about Paul's self promotion? He announces himself in full before he starts his epistles; thus setting up the tone of authority, (his authority,) throughout the letter. He certainly believed in himself and in his calling!

“Paul, called as an apostle of Yeshua the Messiah by the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,” 1 Corinthians 1:1

The only self-promotion that would be unrighteous in my eyes would be a lying and deceptive one. In other words, you are promising something you can't deliver or you are self-appointed with nothing to back you up. As long as you can deliver what you are promising, you'd better speak it loud and clear so everyone can hear you!!! It is a very noisy and busy world out there, and if you want to succeed, you need to be heard ABOVE THE NOISE!

I was in another coaching lesson many years ago and we were doing a seminar on promoting our ideas. The whole group needed to talk at once and convinced the other ones that their ideas were worth listening to. It was a terrible noise, everyone was screaming, no one was being heard! Finally, I just stood on one of the chairs and shouted at the top of my lungs. Everyone heard me and I won the contest. Of course some criticized me of being "imposing" and some other 'sensitive souls' say that they do not like screaming at all. Nevertheless it proved to be effective in that crazy setting!  Those courageous and creative preachers that stand on stools and other make shift "stages" in Hyde Park's Corner in London, really understand what I mean. We live in a very busy, noisy and competitive world and this includes the Church! If we want to be heard, if we want people to join our vision, then we need to be heard! Sometimes we must be creative in order to attract the attention necessary.

You must settle it within yourself:  I must be my best fan and supporter before I can ask someone else to believe in me and to support me. All great men and women that have accomplished great things knew this secret!

For some reason I can say that it is much harder for women to promote themselves and to believe in themselves, but I tell you ladies: It is time for Godly Women to arise out of low self esteem or no self esteem! I am just coming out of long years of wrong and destructive belief that I do not deserve to succeed! I have advanced ranks and "crossed forbidden gender lines in the ministry" having to fight off serious insecurities and feelings of defectiveness! And all that because I happened to have been born a WOMAN! I was the first Woman to be a Jewish Senior Pastor in Israel. In the national pastor's meetings I was the only woman. Now I am the first Jewish Woman Bishop. And now a Jewish –Israeli Woman Apostle and in Network  Marketing!  Aiiiiiiiiiiii Ai Aiiiiiiii!!!! I have suffered a lot and struggled within myself, spent countless of hours praying, fasting and searching. To arrive to one conclusion:

We are born to be a SUCCESS on this earth. Both men and women have been created in the image and likeness of the Creator. He does not have any problems announcing who He is, neither does His Son, nor the Apostle Paul, neither do I…

GODLY SELF-PROMOTION:

May YOUR voice be heard above the noise of those who choose to stay mediocre! Trust Elohim who created you with High Self Esteem, believe in yourself; SAY IT OUT LOUD!  And watch SUCCESS happen!

"Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be taken up and cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him." Mark 11:23
