ISRAEL TURNS 61! |
||
Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Can a land be born in one day? Can a nation be brought forth all at once? As soon as Zion travailed, she also brought forth her sons. Shall I bring to the point of birth and not give delivery?" says the LORD. "Or shall I who gives delivery shut the womb?" says your God. Isaiah 66:8,9 Shabbat shalom dearly beloved and Happy Birthday Israel! This coming Wednesday the 29th of April Israel turns 61! Out of the ashes of the Shoa (Holocaust) and the most horrendous genocide that history has ever seen, a vibrant Jewish nation has arisen! This past week was the annual commemoration service for the victims of the Nazi regime which were mostly Jewish. As we partook of the ceremony in Eilat I had my husband Baruch on one side and my daughter Adi, a “Sabra” (Native born Israeli) on my other side. I relished on the miracle of my two children Adi and Yuval that were born here, being the first generation of native born Israelis in my family after 2000 years of exile, persecution, humiliations, forced conversions and mass murders. Eleven minutes after the Declaration of Independence was signed, President Truman de facto recognized the State of Israel followed by Iran (which had voted against the UN partition plan), Guatemala, Iceland, Nicaragua, Romania and Uruguay. The Soviet Union was the first nation to recognize Israel de jure on 17 May 1948, followed by Poland, Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, Ireland and South Africa The United States extended official recognition on 31 January 1949. The declaration was followed by an invasion of the new state by troops from Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon and Syria, starting the 1948 Arab–Israeli War, known in Israel as the War of Independence (Hebrew: מלחמת העצמאות , Milhamat HaAtzma'ut). Although a truce began on 11 June, fighting resumed on 8 July and stopped again on 18 July, before restarting in mid-October and finally ending on 24 July 1949 with the signing of the armistice agreement with Syria. By then Israel had retained its independence and increased its land area by almost 50% compared to the partition plan. (www.wikepedia.org) The rebirth of Israel was totally miraculous and yet very painful as it happened only 3 years after the liberation of Auschwitz and the end of the Shoa (Holocaust). There were tremendous opposing forces but Yah’s Covenant and Promise prevailed and the nation was literally born in ONE day! The “baby” nation did not even have time to get “nursed” before it found itself attacked by all Arab nations around. The chances that such a “tiny infant”, a nation of survivors with no money would survive this onslaught was null , but again Yah’s Covenant coupled with Jewish determination and desperation prevailed! Also I will restore the captivity of My people Israel, and they will rebuild the ruined cities and live in them; they will also plant vineyards and drink their wine, and make gardens and eat their fruit. I will also plant them on their land, and they will not again be rooted out from their land which I have given them," says the LORD your God. Amos 9:14,15 THE TWO STATE SOLUTION PLAN WAS REJECTED BY ALL THE ARABS As Israel celebrates 61 miraculous years since its rebirth, the hottest topic is “the Two State “Solution” and the division of Israel into a Jewish and a Palestinian State. Except this is not a “new” plan, it was the first plan suggested by the UN, accepted by the Jews and rejected by all Arabs!
The UN partition plan In the face of increasing violence, the British handed the issue over to the United Nations. The result was Resolution 181, a partition plan to divide Palestine between Jews and Arabs. The Jewish state was to receive around 56% of the land area of Mandate Palestine, encompassing 82% of the Jewish population, though it would be separated from Jerusalem, designated as an area to be administered by the UN. The plan was accepted by most of the Jewish population, but rejected by much of the Arab populace. On 29 November 1947, the plan was put to a vote in the United Nations General Assembly. The result was 33 to 13 in favour of the plan, with 10 abstentions. The Arab countries (all of which had opposed the plan) proposed to query the International Court of Justice on the competence of the General Assembly to partition a country against the wishes of the majority of its inhabitants, but were again defeated. The division was to take effect on the date of British withdrawal from the territory (15 May 1948), though the UK refused to implement the plan, arguing it was unacceptable to both sides. www.wikepedia.org The Almighty is very jealous about the Land Covenant and He will judge all those who divide Israel and Jerusalem. Israel has been suffering from terrible drought every time she tries to implement The Two State Plan and the nations have been hit with terrible storms and earthquakes! For behold, in those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem, I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat then I will enter into judgment with them there on behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; and they have divided up My land. Joel 3:1-2 What is Israel facing 61 years later? "It will come about in that day that I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who lift it will be severely injured And all the nations of the earth will be gathered against it. Zechariah 12:3 The USA, Iran and All Arab nations, Venezuela and many Latin American nations, South Africa and most of Africa, The UN, France and all The European Union, the Eastern Block, the World Council of Churches, Russia…They are all committed to the Two State “Solution” that incurs in the judgment of the nations by YHVH Himself! DEADLY HANDSHAKES
Only a few days ago another dubious and possibly deadly handshake took place between USA President Barack Obama and sworn Anti-Semite President Hugo Chavez from Venezuela. Some people say, “It’s only a handshake”. But handshakes have been forever used by those in Politics to symbolize brotherhood and/or a business partnership. In some cases it is a covenant. There is nothing naïve about a handshake with Chavez who is in co-hoots with Iran’s Ahmadinajad who has vowed to annihilate Israel and has spoken venomously against the USA! The following excerpts are from Arutz 7 BORN UNDER PRESSURE
We are now in phase 2 of the Restoration of Israel, from natural Zionism to Spiritual Zionism! It is time for Israel to return to Elohim and to open her eyes to the Messiah! Most everyone is talking about the Messiah these days, even secular singers are singing about him and the religious are praying for him to come! This is just like when Y’shua came, everyone was looking for the Messiah! Except this time we will recognize Him! I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and of supplication, so that they will look on Me whom they have pierced; and they will mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him like the bitter weeping over a firstborn. Zechariah 12:10 We invite you to pray like never before for the Restoration of Israel, for Revival! In fact until Israel welcomes Him back, He will not return! For I say to you, from now on you will not see Me until you say, 'BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD!'"
