PASSOVER

How to prepare and celebrate Passover and Feast of Matsa

Clean out the old leaven so that you may be a new lump, just as you are in fact unleavened. For Messiah our Passover also has been sacrificed.

Therefore let us celebrate the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. 1 Corinthians 5:6-8

  1. Cleanse you natural and spiritual home including your heart from all “leaven” that is likened unto sin. (Some people call this “spring cleaning”)
  2. Get rid of all bread and leaven products
  3. Prepare yourself spiritually in prayer and repent of all known sin
  4. Prepare your house or fellowship hall for a special Passover Seder Dinner (Seder means “order” of service)
  5. It is customary to buy new clothes and wear them, symbolizing newness
  6. Buy all the Passover elements such as:  1. Sweet wine or grape juice 2. Matza (unleavened bread) 3. Bitter herbs   4. A shank bone of a lamb (if available) 3. Grated horse radish  4. “Charoset” a sweet paste made out of mashed dates, grape juice and nuts (mix it together and add a bit of cinnamon and nutmeg very little) 5. Bowls with salty water.
  7. On every table their needs to be a Pessach plate that includes all the above elements.
  8. Cook a great dinner
  9. Invite BOTH saved and UNSAVED people to the Seder Dinner
  10. Sit around the table. If you do this before sunset then light candles symbolizing the entrance of the Feast. If after sunset don’t worry about the candles or have a Menorah lit up in a visible place symbolizing Y’shua the Light of the world.
  11. Prepare songs about deliverance from sin and slavery and about Israel
  12. If in a fellowship can prepare special dances
  13. Sit around the table and let everyone have the portion of Scriptures of Exodus 10:1-2, 12-13:16
  14. Before the whole story is  read from the Holy Scriptures, explain to the people in general  the history of Pessach according to Exodus 1-12. Do this in no more than 15 minutes. Talk about the cruelty of Pharao, the killing of the male babies, the birth of Moses, the banishment of Moses for killing an Egyptian, the Divine Encounter with YHVH, and the plagues and finally the deliverance from Egypt. This has to be done in very simple words so that even children can understand.  You can even have the children prepare a drama on this.
  15. Then explain  about the Seder Plate with all is symbols:
  16.  THREE Matzas covered with a beautiful white cloth= The Sinless Passover Lamb (no leaven=no sin)
  17. The Wine= The Blood of the Lamb
  18. The Lamb Bone= The Lamb that was slain
  19. The bitter herbs and horse radish= The bitter slavery
  20. The Charoset (sweet paste)= The mortar to make bricks in Egypt
  21. The bowls with salty water= The tears we shed when in slavery and bondage to Egypt and to sin
  22. Do a Kiddush like in Shabbat blessing Matza and wine and have everyone partake by tasting matza and having a little cup of wine or grape juice: The wine and the Matza.
  23.  Break the middle matza of the THREE and the broken ½ hide it somewhere.
  24. After the meal that children will compete in finding it and get a prize if they do. This is called “The Afikoman” which means “I have come” and it represents Y’shua. As it is hid= it represents His burial and as find Him then His resurrection and our deliverance and salvation.
  25. Have different people assigned to read a portion of the assigned scriptures (see #13) interjected by some singing, praising Yah for His great deeds, deliverance, etc… and even some dance. Read some and sing some, etc..
  26. Now have everyone eat and taste of all the Passover elements (dip herbs in salty water, make  a sandwich with Matza, sweet paste and horseradish, etc..)
  27. Assign someone to pray for the Shalom and wellbeing of Jerusalem and all of Israel and also declare for yourselves this prophetic declaration that the Jewish People declared for 2000 years until it was made a reality: “Next Year in Jerusalem” and encourage people to make “spiritual Alyah” and come on tour. Also declare “And for eternity in the New Jerusalem with  the People of Israel and all Grafted In Gentiles”
  28. Now it is the time for the scrumptious dinner, everyone can eat
  29. AFTER DINNER: Have everyone’s attention and have the children look for the  AFIKOMAN that you have hid. Whoever finds it gets a price (have it ready)
  30. Take the Afikoman broken piece of Matza that has been found and now it is time to take Communion. Preach the Gospel at this point and invite people to find the TRUE AFIKOMAN- Y’shua HaMashiach the Lamb of Elohim and to be saved. Lead them into prayer of repentance and salvation and have them receive Communion with all of you. See Scriptures:  1 Corinthians 11:23-25 and Jeremiah 31:31-34
  31. Go into a time of praise and prayer and even a watch night. It is customary to read-sing  and declare the Psalms of Ascents= Psalms 120-134

For the next 7 days eat only MATZA and no leavened bread

On the last evening (7th evening) have another special dinner with a worship service and testimonies of what Yah has done in their lives to set them free from bondage.

We wait for you in Zion!

And many peoples will come and say, Come, let us go up to the mountain of YHVH, To the house of the God of Jacob;  that He may teach us concerning His ways and that we may walk in His paths."  For the law will go forth from Zion and the word of YHVH from Jerusalem” Isaiah 2:3
