TORAH PORTION TEACHING

BAHAR-On the Mountain

Leviticus 25 to 26:2

In Leviticus 25 we learn all about the laws of Shabbat and Jubilee for the Land.

1.      Leviticus 25:1-25. A Land that does not rest will not be blessed and in the same way when we don’t honor the Shabbat, we forfeit a great portion of the blessing and we cannot give fruit properly. In many countries the ground is depleted for the land does not rest. Also many people are depleted for they do not sanctify the Shabbat and make it holy as Yahveh instructed. (Read Isaiah 56)

2.      Leviticus 25:25-55 This portion of the chapter also tells us about the right financial behavior we ought to have towards our brothers in the Covenant. We need to be careful not to cheat them and not to overcharge them or charge interest on loans. Here we can see the Heart of the Father for His children to behave with one another as family and not as strangers. It is also a warning against ungodly financial practices towards those that are part of our spiritual family

3.      Leviticus 26:1-2 gives us a quick summary of the whole chapter calling us to holiness and to worship Yahveh and Him alone by keeping His Shabbats both the weekly Shabbats and the year of Shabbat and of Jubilee for the Land. After these two verses in chapter 26 it leads us directly into the outcome of obedience to this which is the full release of the BLESSING!

4.      KEY SCRIPTURE: Leviticus 25:21,”then I will so order My blessing for you in the sixth year that it will bring forth the crop for three years. When we obey Yah’s Shabbat Commandments, He orders a TRIPLE PORTION blessing!
