RESTORING ‘HATIKVA’ HOPE TO ISRAEL

“For thus says Yahveh of hosts: ‘ Just as I determined to punish you When your fathers provoked Me to wrath,’ Says Yahveh of hosts, ‘And I would not relent, So again in these days I am determined to do good To Jerusalem and to the house of Judah. Do not fear.”  Zechariah 8:14, 15

Shabbat Shalom dearly beloved:

In September of 2006 I was invited to bring The MAP Revolution to the Philippines and because this was going to be a large even I wanted to take with me the Israeli Anthem called- HATIKVAH that means THE HOPE. Before I would preach I would bring up the flag of Israel and everyone would stand as the Israeli Anthem is played. What I am about to tell you shocked me to the chore of my being and made me realize that the MOST IMPORTANT MINISTRY OF THE CHURCH TO ISRAEL RIGHT NOW IS TO RESTORE ISRAEL’S HOPE.

HATIKVAH (Hope)

Kol ode balevav
P'nimah -

Nefesh Yehudi homiyah

Ulfa'atey mizrach kadimah
Ayin l'tzion tzofiyah.

Ode lo avdah tikvatenu
Hatikvah bat shnot alpayim:

L'hiyot am chofshi b'artzenu -
Eretz Tzion v'Yerushalayim.

As long as the Jewish spirit is yearning deep in the heart,

With eyes turned toward the East, looking toward Zion,

Then our hope - the two-thousand-year-old hope - will not be lost:

To be a free people in our land,

The land of Zion and Jerusalem

 Here is the story:

I went to buy a CD with our historical, miraculous national anthem to the largest bookshop in the Old City of Jerusalem- Moriah. When I came in I spoke to the sales clerk and asked him for “Hatikvah” which means “The Hope”. He stared at me with a sheepish look as I reiterated: “You know our national anthem?” He said somehow embarrassed and apologetic: “Yes, we used to carry it but we do not have it anymore”

“Bang!” that was a low blow, this is the largest book shop in the Old City of Jerusalem, they carry EVERYTHING pertaining to Israel, it is also a religious shop, it is worse than going to a Christian Bookshop and asking for ANY CD containing the song “Amazing Grace” and the clerk telling you “We don’t carry it anymore!”

Quite surprised and sad about what I detected was a national plague; I proceeded to the NEW city of Jerusalem and went to the largest chain of music shops in the country- Tower Records. As I entered I asked the clerk for ANY CD containing “Hatikva-you know OUR Israeli Anthem??’. The clerk was a young lady maybe in her late teens and she was sitting on the floor at the entrance to the shop smoking a cigarette.  When I asked her the said question, she stared at me with a blank and bored look, dismissing my question altogether. ‘No, we don’t carry that sort of thing’  I was getting more alarmed by the moment when another clerk in his 20’s felt pricked with guilt and went up to the second storey  where they have the “oldies” among the Israeli songs and feverishly, and obviously pricked in his conscious, he proceeded to look for the long lost treasure. “I am sorry, he said apologizing, I can’t find any CD with Hatikvah” I was beginning to get the picture and now this was turning into a ‘treasure hunt’ a private detective’s kind of search!

I decided to go to the most important national chain of bookshops in Israel that always carries EVERYTHING that has any national or Zionistic flavor- STEMAZKY. I knew that if I could not find Hatikvah in Stemazky there was probably no HATIKVAH-HOPE to be found in Israel, period! I arrived to that shop with the last of my own ‘tikvah’ to find “Hatikvah’ and almost as a broken record I asked the nice middle aged lady sales clerk: “Do you happen to have Hatikvah? You know our…” Already before I finished my sentence the sales lady stopped me, blushing profusely. “Yes I know, we USED TO…But now, maybe…” She was utterly embarrassed that this glorious chain did not carry our NATIONAL ANTHEM and began to feverishly look through all the Israeli classics CD’s in hope that maybe, somewhere in some HIDDEN place she could find THE HOPE!

I watched her with sadness, great pity arose in my heart…My people have lost HATIKVAH, that is the problem. This is why we are giving up the land to an enemy that has sworn to destroy us, we have lost the VISION that our anthem carries. Now I know why…As expected the lady profusely apologized and said there was no CD with the Anthem. I could not but say- “That is the reason why we are giving up we have forgotten our own National Anthem” to which she sheepishly agreed. “But she said there is another shop called HATAV HASHMINI or the 8th NOTE in Hillel street and you may find it there.” I thanked her and left with very little hope that any shop would carry this precious treasure. I called my husband who was all the time waiting for me in the car and told him where I was going.

As I arrived to the very small and crammed music shop, that seemed to be very popular among the people; I noticed a young, skinny and tall sales clerk. He did not look very happy. Nevertheless I asked the question- “Do you have any music CD that carries our National Anthem “Hatikvah?” To my utter amazement and surprise he answered:

“YES WE DO” without hesitation. I was beside myself, I was ready to shout! I must have sounded extremely happy and excited when I said: “YOU HAVE HATIKVAH?” to which he answered: “NO, I DON’T HAVE ANY TIKVAH (HOPE) BUT WE CARRY THE SONG”. Now that I found the song, I also found the true condition of our people- NO HOPE! I proceeded to congratulate him for being THE ONLY ONE in ALL OF JERUSALEM (our eternal capital!) to carry the song and proceeded to tell him that in a very short while he was going to get true HOPE back! (I intended to pray for him, that’s why!). He handed me the CD with a shadow of a smile or a smirk (I don’t know which one) and I went to pay for my trophy that was MARKED DOWN. In other words it was probably one of the most reduced priced CD in the shop. When I looked at the CD, I saw all the “oldies” in it and the LAST song of all the two CD package was….HATIKVAH!!! Hatikvah sold VERY CHEAPLY, not even appreciated…Collecting dust in a music shop. Nevertheless I found it!

As I was paying I saw my smiling husband behind me. He had just arrived from the car and I told him the whole story of my Hatikvah quest. Well, he said your words to that hopeless young clerk have come to pass! “How??? I asked him” Because I have just given you your book KEN (YES), your testimony of salvation to read! You see? This is the power of faith proclamation; my husband knew nothing of my prophecy to this young man that he will soon get TIKVAH into his own life! But the angels heard it and they sent my husband with MY BOOK IN HEBREW to give him THE HOPE OF GLORY!!!

Just to make sure that my findings about the loss of hope in Israel were true, I went to two more book and music shops on the Mountains of Jerusalem where I leave and of course none of them carried HATIKVAH!

I found Hatikvah in the 8th Note shop and it is time for the 8th NOTE to HIT ISRAEL WITH HOPE. 8th is the number for: Circumcision, New beginnings and Resurrection. It is time to resurrect the dream and the hope of Israel. The 8th note is also the promise in Zechariah 8:

“For thus says Yahveh of hosts: ‘ Just as I determined to punish you When your fathers provoked Me to wrath,’ Says Yahveh of hosts, ‘And I would not relent, So again in these days I am determined to do good To Jerusalem and to the house of Judah. Do not fear.”   Zechariah 8:14, 15

I am inviting all of you from the nations to come and strike “the 8th note” and make Spiritual Alyah this year in order to spark HATIKVAH back into the Land of Israel. As you come to restore Israel to the HOPE and the VISION of the Land and of YAH’s Covenant. Just like my testimony of salvation has brought hope to a hopeless young Israeli, so your PRESENCE, PRAISE and PRAYER will restore the lost hope to our people! And as you do that “to the Jew first” so your own hope will be restored

“Thus says Yahveh of hosts: ‘Peoples shall yet come, Inhabitants of many cities; The inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, “Let us continue to go and pray before Yahveh, And seek Yahveh of hosts. I myself will go also.” Yes, many peoples and strong nations Shall come to seek Yahveh of hosts in Jerusalem, And to pray before Yahveh.’ “Thus says Yahveh of hosts: ‘In those days ten men from every language of the nations shall grasp the sleeve of a Jewish man, saying, “Let us go with you, for we have heard that Elohim is with you.”’” Zechariah 8:20-23

Come and restore Israel’s HOPE this year as you join our tours and MAP Revolution trainings.
